Joshua Kaganove
was a Russian/American. New
Deal / WPA artist. Born in Kiev, Russia, Kaganove studied at the Cooper
Union Art School; and the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught at the
Art Institute of Chicago and lived in Chicago until his death in 1968. His
exhibitions included: the Art Institute of Chicago in 1936 and 1939; the Wichita
Art Museum; the American Federation of Arts traveling exhibition; the
Springfield Museum of Art; the Metropolitan Museum of Art in1942; the Association of American Artists,
Chicago; Old Northwest Territory Exhibition; Northwestern University
(solo); and, the American Jewish Art Club in 1958.
