Marco
Massimo Sassone was born in the Tuscan village of Campi Bisenzio in 1942.
His family moved to Florence, Italy in 1954 where he later studied
painting in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. Sassone attended
the Instituto Galileo Galilei from 1959 to 1961 where he studied
architectural drafting and then studied painting at the Academy of Fine
Arts in Florence from 1963 to 1967 under Silvio Loffredo. In 1967
Sassone moved to California eventually settling in Laguna Beach. He
began exhibiting in 1967. Sassone is known for his skillful use of
color in his oil paintings and elaborate screen prints that often depict
cityscapes and harbor scenes.
