Original 1940s oil painting by well listed American New York artist Arthur Smith.  Arthur Smith painted for the Federal WPA Program in the 1930s and 1940s and was also an Illustrator for "The Ring" boxing magazine. Smith died in 1972  and his paintings have recently been exhibited in New York City and throughout the United States. This highly detailed painting depicts a great representation of a 1930s/40s baseball event. A detailed shot at home base. His baseball paintings are rather scarce.
