Max Band is a
noted and listed Lithuanian artist born in 1900 and died in 1974. In 1921
he entered the Academy of Art in Berlin and later studied art in Paris. He
remained in the art metropolis for many productive years and was called a
painter of “realistic expression.” His style is early modern abstract
before 1950. He authored "History of Contemporary Art" in 1935
and settled in Hollywood where he stayed until his death in November 1974.
